St Catherine’s Catholic Primary School

St Catherine’s Catholic Primary School, located in Sandyford, serves families from our parish and the surrounding local community, offering education for children from Nursery to Year 6.

As a Catholic school within the Diocese of Hexham and Newcastle, St Catherine’s works in partnership with our parish to support children and families in their faith formation and education, helping children to grow as learners and as young people of faith.

Education and pastoral support

St Catherine’s offers high‑quality teaching within a broad and engaging curriculum, alongside strong pastoral support. Staff take great care to know each child as an individual and to support their wellbeing, confidence and love of learning.Care for children extends beyond the school day. To support family life, St Catherine’s also provides wraparound care (7:30am-5:45pm), offering before‑ and after‑school provision for working parents.

Families are warmly encouraged to visit St Catherine’s to experience the school’s welcoming atmosphere and Catholic community at first hand. Visits are available for Nursery, Reception and children joining in other year groups, offering an opportunity to meet staff, see the school in action and ask any questions.
